Host FAQ’s & Guidelines
General Expectations
Is this a paid role?
Yes. Hosting Blink Collective is a paid opportunity, and with that comes an expectation of professionalism, preparation, and reliability.
Do I need to be an expert?
No. Curiosity, passion and thoughtful discussion matter more than expertise. It’s okay to say “I don’t know” or “this is my experience.”
Content & Approval
Will everything we record be published?
No. All episodes or clips intended for release require review and approval by the Valley Contax team.
Can we post clips on our own social media?
Only after approval and in coordination with the Blink Collective team.
Professional & Clinical Responsibility
Blink Collective is a paid, professional opportunity. While we value authentic conversations and real experiences, optometry is a regulated medical field, and we expect hosts to approach discussions thoughtfully and responsibly.
Patient privacy must always be protected, and any clinical discussions should remain de-identified and evidence-based. Opinions, experiences, and evolving ideas are welcome, claims, guarantees, or unsupported medical statements are not.
Our goal is to create content that is engaging, educational, and inspiring without compromising professionalism, accuracy, or trust.
Tone & Professionalism
Can we be casual and fun?
Yes, that’s encouraged.
Just remain respectful, accurate, and mindful that this is a professional medical space.
Can we disagree or debate topics?
Absolutely. Thoughtful discussion is great. Keep it professional and respectful. No political topics 😇.
Clinical & Patient Privacy
Patient privacy must always be protected, and any clinical discussions should remain de-identified and evidence-based.
Can I talk about patients or cases?
Yes, but only if fully de-identified.
No names, no dates, no locations, no unique details that could identify a patient.
Can I share interesting or unusual cases?
Yes, as long as they are discussed in a general, educational way and stripped of identifying information.
Claims, Advice & Opinions
Can I give clinical advice?
No direct medical advice. Discussions should be educational and experiential.
Can I make claims about outcomes or products?
Avoid guarantees or definitive claims.
How the Submission & Selection Process Works
Step 1: Submit an Episode Proposal (No Pressure, No Promise)
This is simply a chance for us to get to know you, your dynamic, communication style, and how you approach conversations in optometry.
Step 2: Internal Review
Submitted proposals are reviewed by the Valley Contax team.
Step 3: Approval & Next Steps
If selected, we’ll move forward together more formally. This includes:
Presenting a compensation package (competitive and designed with students in mind)
Handling logistics such as agreements and release forms
Providing access to our professional recording tools
Step 4: Recording Official Episodes.
We’ll walk you through the next steps for recording your first episode.
Once approved hosts will be given access to Valley Contax’s professional SquadCast account to ensure high-quality audio and video.
Blink Collective is a curated platform. Participation, episode release, and continued hosting are subject to Valley Contax’s review and approval to ensure quality, professionalism, and compliance within a highly regulated healthcare field.
Our goal is to make this process supportive, clear, and rewarding, while setting everyone up for success from the start.
